A native of Los Angeles, Bob grew up watching TV westerns and became enamored with cowboys and the American West. He put his dreams of riding off into the sunset on hold to be the Senior VP/Design Director for Heil Brice Retail Advertising (HBRA) in Newport Beach, California. For over a decade Bob oversaw creative services for national and regional retail, entertainment and publication accounts. His work for Universal Studios on the debut of the Jurassic Park Ride was named for Design Excellence by the Orange County Advertising Club. The Jurassic Park piece was also given the Gold Award by the Printing Industry Association of Southern California. His work was recognized for Best Art Direction for Editorial Illustration for a magazine spread by Print Magazine.
Though he thrives in the creative realm, life in southern California proved to be no match for the lure of the last, best frontier. In 2000, Bob moved to the West, telecommuting from Wyoming to California. He was eventually hired by Ad Design and moved to Billings where he worked on automotive, telecommunication, real estate and financial accounts. In 2007, Bob was named Marketing Creative Director for Billings Gazette Communications. His duties included working with corporate owner, Lee Enterprises’ marketing department creating ad campaigns for sales initiatives nationwide. Bob was the artistic force behind numerous niche and specialty publications including Billings Business, LifeWise, Big Sky Bride and Magic City Magazine – named “Best Magazine in Montana” by the Montana Newspaper Association in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Still smitten with the West, in 2016 Robert returned to his creative roots and co-founded Rebel River Creative, an agency devoted to helping businesses grow their brand and achieve extraordinary results.
